Wellington is firmly focused on being a bicultural City of Film, keen to put Aotearoa’s stories and storytellers in the spotlight
Wellington is recognised as a City of Film talent, experience and innovation. We are celebrated for our cultural and creative leadership.
In reality we have been a City of Film for more than 100 years, but official recognition means we can build stronger and enduring partnerships to deliver a diverse and sustainable screen sector that contributes to our cultural, social and economic development for the next 100 years.
We aim to be a bicultural City of Film, we want to shine a light on Aotearoa’s original stories and storytellers.
Being part of the Creative City Network means we can exchange ideas, co-operate and learn about other cultures – taking Wellington to the world and bringing the world to Wellington.
